Welcome to S.T.E.M. Lab!

During the 2019- 2020 school year, the K-5 students will have the privilege of creating, collaborating, communicating and developing critical thinking skills during Computer Literacy, in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Lab.  The students will work on coding, robotics with Dash & Dot, building with Keva Planks, and circuitry and construction with LEGOs.  Grades 4 and 5 will create video presentations using our green screen.  We are very excited to explore all of these new resources!

Students in kindergarten, first and second grade will spend time in computer literacy becoming familiar with the keyboard using a variety of applications.  They will learn the proper use of computer hardware, practice the home row keys, learn how to use word processing and learn how to navigate online websites.

Third, Fourth and Fifth graders will spend their time in computer literacy learning/reviewing word processing, spreadsheet and presentation applications.  They will also be learning how to use various methods of research and then creating projects with the information collected. All assignments will be turned into Google Classroom.

All  Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth grade students have Google accounts.  Google login information will be sent home in September.  Please remind students that their google account is for school use only.

In addition, all grades will continue to practice Cyber Safety, Digital Citizenship and Cyber Security throughout the year.
