Homework:

Students, you must read 40 pages at home each week. Any unfinished classwork also becomes homework. 

Parents, please sign the slip of paper that says your child has been reading a book at home this week. Have conversations with your child about the books he or she chooses. Give them recommendations of books that you loved growing up. Encourage reading in waiting rooms, on road trips, in quiet settings, and before bed. Visit the Jackson Library. They have many amazing and free activities for your tweens!

Grading:

Assessments (Essays, Quizzes, Tests) = 50%

Participation (Classwork) = 30%

Homework (Reading at Home and Light Assignments) = 20%
