Foods for Life is a 1 marking period course/ 45 days.
During your child's visit to the kitchen, they will learn about safety and sanitation, preparing foods using a recipe, measuring and the many other tasks involved in cooking.
Week 1: Safety and Sanitation
Week 2: Measuring
Week 3: Following Directions and Reading a Recipe
Week 4: Use of Equipment and Knives
Week 5: Importance of Breakfast
Week 6: "My Plate" and Eating Smart
Week 7 and 8: International Cuisine and Customs
Week 9: Yeast Breads
Week 10: Quick Breads
During each week students will have a chance to work in the kitchen with their group to prepare a recipe that coincides with the unit.
