8th Grade Literacy
Spring is just around the corner and we are well on our way to 9th grade. MP 3 has gotten off to a great start. We just finished Flowers for Algernon and we will start our research simulation the week of 3/4.
3/11-3/28 We will work through "The Diary of Anne Frank," a drama, focusing on the Holocaust, World War II, Nazi Germany, and an inspiring young lady, who despite the circumstances, remained a bright light during a dark time.
Some things to remember:
Daily Reading Comprehension is assigned every Monday-Thursday for homework and Friday in class. All sheets are started in class.
We are on IXL Monday, Wednesday, and sometimes Friday if time allows. All students are making wonderful progress.
All students and guardians have access to Genesis and should be checking it regularly. Grades are updated daily.
Please remember to charge your Chromebook on a nightly basis!
Supplies needed:
Charged Chrome Book
Pencil
Homework Folder
These items should come to class with you every day!

SSR (silent sustained reading) will take place on a weekly basis in class. Students should have a book with them at all times. If they do not have their own book, they will be required to choose one from our extensive classroom library. Aside from reading in class, students should be reading at home for at least 20 minutes per day.
