Parents: Our weekly plans will be on Google Classroom Monday morning.

Don't forget to visit your Special Area teachers' class pages weekly to complete your required assignments.

**If you have not already done so, make sure you have logged into your child's gmail account and accepted the invite to our classroom.  This is different than this class page. See the log in information below. (for the math) You only need to continue onto the easybridge part if you are looking to see the math book.

Parents, I want to leave this message for you here....
Right now, don't worry about your child regressing in school. Every single kid in the USA is in this boat and they all will be OK! When we get back to the classroom, we will meet them where they are and go from there. At the end of all of this, your child's mental health will be more important than their academic skills. And how they felt at this time will stay with them long after the memory of these weeks is long gone. So, keep that in mind every single day!

    Dear Parents/Guardians,

Teachers in grades Kindergarten through Fourth will be contacting you  (via email, Google Classroom, Remind, Dojo)  to inform you that your child's items left in their desks will be baggedlabeled, and returned to them in September with their new teacher. Should your child have left any essential personal items deemed necessary such as eye glasses, medication, etc…, please contact your child’s teacher.  These items will be collected and parents will be contacted to coordinate a scheduled pick up time Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am. and 12:30pm.

EXCEPTION: Our Grade 5 students will be receiving ALL of their items, including promotion certificates, yearbooks, etc. during the last week of school...more information to follow at a later time.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.

This week the kids are working on:
Topic 10 Composing and decomposing 11-19
     Bucket Filling Initiative
Switlik Elementary School is commmitted to creating a caring and respectful environment. We are using the world acclaimed book by Carol McCloud, Have You Filled a Bucket Today- A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids in order to create a safer, kinder, more respectful school culture.*** Each month a student will be chosen from every class to be the Bucket filler of the month.  They will get their picture taken and posted on the school web page.
    Switlik Reading Challenge
Let the competition begin!!!  Each student is encouraged to read every night.  Every student that completes their reading log each week, will be rewarded at the end of each month.  If our class reads the most, we win the GOLDEN BOOK AWARD for our grade!  Let's get reading!

Your child will need a backpack that will hold a 9 x 12 folder.  Please make sure your child’s name is in everything that comes to school.  (They tend to forget what they own)  Also, it will be beneficial if they have crayons, pencils, scissors, and glue at home for homework.   Please label it with your child's name.  Our class can always use tissues, wipes, and Lysol wipes to keep our room sanitized.  I am requesting that you send in a family photo for the kids to put in their cubby.   Thank you!!
