BACK to School Night Sept. 30th 7:00 pmHello! My name is Mrs. Smith and I will be your child's second grade teacher this year! Second grade is going to be an exciting year for both you and your child! During the pandemic, things will be different....but we will be creating a new normal and making new kind of fun memories! Our focus will be on getting to know each other and all of the new routines that come with the new school year.I will use this page as a form of communication and our Google Classroom after everyone is logged on. I'm looking forward to working with your children this year. Please reach out if you need anything. firstname.lastname@example.org
HEALTH AND SAFETY IS OUR FIRST PRIORITY:
The success of advancing to this stage in our reopening process requires all of us to do our part. The safety of our students and staff must come first and we must ALL remain vigilant in our health and safety protocols.
- Keep your children home if they are sick;
- Keep your children home if anyone in your household has tested positive OR is experiencing COVID-compatible symptoms;
- Keep your children home if anyone in your household is awaiting a test result for COVID;
- Remember to truthfully fill out your Daily COVID Health Screening Form for your child each day.
- Remember to contact your school nurse if anyone in your house has been exposed to COVID, has COVID-compatible symptoms, or is being tested.

Chromebooks have been provided to each student for use at home and in school for the duration of the 2021-2022 school year. Please remember to bring your chromebooks to school each day and charge every night so they are accessible for in person and remote learning.

I believe that a great parent-teacher relationship is necessary for a successful school year. My main general classroom communication is Class Dojo, google classroom and the Class Page. I hope that you will visit Them often to learn what is happening in our room. I update often with weekly with information on the skills and strategies that we are working on in class. Other announcements that pertain to our class will also be posted on our class page, google classroon and Class Dojo!
Birthday Party PolicyBirthdays will be celebrated at lunchtime in the cafeteria. To be sensitive to allergy concerns, non-edible items (e.g. toys, stickers, pencils) are strongly encouraged for these celebrations so that all children can participate in the celebration.If you choose to send in a snack, consider a healthy snack. Also please note that all items sent must be in individually wrapped, pre-packaged portions so that the child can easily distribute to classmates. Ice-cream cakes and whole cakes cannot be accommodated by the food service staff. You can deliver your item and/or treat to the receptionist or send it with the birthday child. Visitors are not permitted in the cafeteria. Birthday and/or Party invitations are not handed out in school, under any circumstances. However, parents are invited to join the class “party list” which will be distributed to parents that join the list. Please contact your child’s teacher directly for this information.
Be sure to log into class Dojo for updates and your childs daily progress!!! It's a great way to stay in touch with what is happening in room P3.
The PTN is always looking for volunteers, please contact Samantha Marley orPTN.email@example.com if you wish to help out.
