Sixth Grade Students Will:
- Read works that focus on text complexity and its academic language
- Extract and employ evidence from the text, literary and informational
- Build knowledge through content-rich non-fiction
- Write essays by responding to text, including comparison and synthesis of ideas
- Improve reading comprehension skills using Notice and Note strategies for both fiction and non-fiction texts
- Practice PVLEGS techniques for speaking and presenting in front of the class
- Use grammar skills to improve writing and speaking
