- planner
- novel for silent reading (will be kept in the classroom)
- binder w/ 3 divider tabs (Wordly Wise, Editing/Grammar, Writing) *we suggest 1 or 1.5 inch binder with a small amount of filler/loose-leaf paper
- composition notebook (NOT a spiral notebook)
- pencils with erasers
- editing pens (colored)
- highlighter
- earbuds or headphones for use with Chromebooks

Sixth Grade Students Will:
- read works that focus on text complexity and its academic language
- extract and employ evidence from the text, literary and informational
- build knowledge through content-rich non-fiction
- improve reading comprehension skills using Notice and Note strategies for both fiction and non-fiction texts
- write well-developed essays responding to text, including RST, LAT, and NT
