Goetz Softball 2023

Hello everyone! Thanks for looking for information on the Goetz softball team for the 2023 season. My name is Katie Sorochka, I am the coach this year. • We will have an interest meeting on Thursday March 2, 2023 in room 106 after school, 2:30-3:15. There is no late bus, so a ride home is required. A schedule will be provided at this time. I will have Google Docs for each month that will be updated on the schedule tab of this webpage and posted in Google Classroom. I will update the Docs as changes occur. I will also send out Remind messages for changes to the schedule. Please join remind at: www.remind.com/join/goetzsoft or text @goetzsoft to 81010. 

• The official first day of tryouts is Monday, March 6, 2023 from 2:45-4:45. A ride home is required. Tryouts will continue at this time for the remainder of the school week.

  • Athletes should bring the following items daily:
    • Water 
    • Sneakers and Cleats 
    • Warm Layers 
    • Glove 
    • Bat 
    • Batting Helmet
    • Catchers- Catching Equipment 
    • Pitchers- Fielding Face Mask
  • I highly recommend your athlete using protective equipment such as:
    • Face Mask for Fielding - PITCHERS MANDATORY  
    • Heart Guard Shirt 
    • Batting Gloves (especially in the cold)

• IF YOU PLAN ON TRYING OUT FOR SOFTBALL, ALL PAPERWORK RELATED TO PHYSICALS MUST BE TURNED IN AND APPROVED BY THE NURSE PRIOR TO THE START OF THE SEASON - INCLUDING TRY OUTS. YOU MAY NOT TRY OUT WITHOUT BEING MEDICALLY CLEARED BY THE SCHOOL NURSE.
