Sixth Grade Tech class is a project based course which provides an introduction to computer and informational literacy, building a foundation of computer literacy skills that will be used throughout students' lives.
Lessons will enhance proficiency in keyboarding skills, file management and data base programs. Students will learn research, editing, and desktop publishing skills while developing an understanding of the impact of technology on their lives. We will address appropriate online behaviors related to cyber safety, cyber bullying, cyber security, cyber ethics, fair use, copyright, the credibility and accuracy of digital content, paraphrasing online information, and citing sources.
Daily keyboarding activities focus on speed and accuracy, focusing on proper finger placement and use of the home row.
