Summer 2020

Dear Switlik Families,

As the school year ends, you begin your summers, enjoy time with your families and remember now more than ever to reflect on the important things that life has to offer…

I would like to thank our teachers and staff, parents and the entry Switlik Community for their patience, fortitude and all the support  you provided to our Switlk students in getting us through these unusual times.

Years from now, 2020 will be remembered as the year we all learned how to live life at a distance from each other and continued to function as community.

We say goodbye to our fifth-grade students.  We hope you take many good memories of the years spent here with you as you leave.  Many new and exciting opportunities await you at the Goetz Middle School.  Take advantage of them and remember to choose to make each there a good one.  Continue to be a Bucket Filler!

Please do not forget about the value of continued learning; do not let anyone take a vacation from reading!  Involvement in reading during the summer months leads to a better academic performance when children return to school in the fall.  This summer, the elementary division of the Jackson Township School District is proud to continue our Summer Reading initiative for students entering grades one through five in September.  We are excited to bring parents and children together in our mission to promote literacy through reading.  We ask that each child read five books and complete one of the reading logs linked here in print or digital format.

On behalf of the Switlik Staff, we wish all of you a happy, healthy and safe summer.  We look forward to seeing everyone in September.  School starts September 3, 2020.

Sincerely,

Kathleen McKiernan, Principal
