Summer 2021

Dear Switlik Families,

As the school year ends, you begin your summer, enjoy time with your families, and remember to reflect on the important things life has to offer… I know that there are many successes and accomplishments that our teachers and students have to reflect upon and celebrate.  I am thankful that I work with such a talented, dedicated and enthusiastic group of educators and parent community who always has the best interest of “our children” as their top priority!

I want to thank all of the Switlik community during this challenging and every-changing school year.  It was a pleasure working with the staff, students and parents throughout the year.  I would also like to thank the Switlik PTN for all of their support and contributions to our school.  I encourage you to read with your child(ren) each evening.  Time spent reading with young learners has tremendous effects on students’ educational success.  I also encourage you to practice addition/subtraction/multiplication/division math facts with your child to help strengthen math skills over the summer.

3rd Marking Period Report Cards are available on the Portal Tuesday, June 22nd.

Important Information Regarding ChromebooksAll students returning to school in September can keep their district-issued Chromebook for the summer.  This will be the same Chromebook your child will use next year.  Any students who will not be returning to Jackson in September should return their Chromebook and charger to the school by Thursday, June 24th. If you need to return it to the school (due to moving, not for repair) during the summer, please note that you may return the Chromebook and charger to the main office Monday through Thursday between the hours of 9:30am-2:00pm.

Please understand that the Chromebooks are the property of the Jackson Township School District and must be taken care of during the summer.  These devices are not intended for recreational use nor should they be used by family members.

Information and additional questions about the devices can be found on our district technology webpage: https://www.jacksonsd.org/domain/2623

Moving During the Summer?

If you are moving during the summer and will be transferring your child(ren), please contact the main office Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8:00AM and 3:30PM. If you are moving within the Jackson School District, you will need to sign an Internal Transfer Form and provide proofs of your new residency before your child’s records can be transferred.  If you are moving out of the Jackson School District, you will need to sign a Student Transfer Verification Form.  A transfer card and a copy of your child(ren)’s health records(s) will be provided to register at a new school. The following information is needed to complete the transfer card:  new home address, new school name, and the new school address.
