School Year 2024-2025
We are looking forward to a year filled with excitement, fun, adventure, and lots of learning! We are going to have an AWESOME year!PLEASE READ IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW REGARDING THE PLANS FOR THIS YEAR:
The safety of our school community must come first and we must ALL remain vigilant in our health and safety protocols.
*Please send in a note with your child if there are any changes to dismissal.*
*Keep your child home if they are sick.*
*Please continue bringing CHARGED Chromebooks and school books to school each day*
*No eating on the bus.*
Important Notes
Please label everything that comes in, including water bottles. And don't forget sweatshirts/jackets as the weather will start to get cooler! This can be as easy as pinning a ribbon or piece of fabric inside the clothing, so you DO NOT have to write on it.
- The students are encouraged to bring in a water bottle each day.
- Our room gets pretty chilly so we recommend that the students bring a sweatshirt or sweater to keep in their backpack, especially at the start of the year when it is much warmer outside than in our classroom!
- Lunches will be available for purchase, but you can always bring a bagged lunch.
- Please send in a note if there will be a change in dismissal for your child. All dismissal notes are sent down to the office in the morning. It is IMPORTANT that you date these notes, include your child's full name, and my name.
School Supplies:
We have provided everything your child needs to have a successful year in 2nd grade. However, it is recommended that each child brings in their own headphones/ear buds for use on the chromebook. Classroom donations: we are always in need of tissues, paper towels, wipes, baggies and Hershey kisses:)
Planners - We will use the Planner that was sent home as a communication tool between our class and your home. Homework and reminders will be written there each morning. Please sign the Planner and review the Homework folder on a daily basis. A written note is required if your child is to be picked up early, or is not to go home on the bus or to Childcare.
PLEASE TRY TO MEMORIZE BUS # AND STUDENT ID#.
Birthday Celebrations
Birthdays may be celebrated during school hours in the APR (Cafeteria) during lunch.
To be sensitive to allergy concerns, non-edible items (e.g. toys, stickers, pencils) are strongly encouraged for these celebrations so that all children can participate in the celebration. We have 25 students in our class.
If you choose to send in a snack, consider a healthy snack. Ice-cream cakes and whole cakes cannot be accommodated by the food service staff. You can deliver your item and/or treat to the receptionist or send it with the birthday child. Visitors are not permitted in the cafeteria. Birthday and/or Party invitations are not handed out in school, under any circumstances. However, parents are invited to join the class “party list” which will be distributed to parents that join the list at Back-To-School Night.
ABSENCES
If your child is absent, please send in a note. If they are sick and see a doctor, please send in a doctors note to have it be excused. Thank you!

What is Bucket Filling?
Actions or words that show that you care about someone. Saying or doing something kind. Giving someone a heartfelt smile. Using names with respect. Helping without being asked. Giving sincere compliments. Showing respect to others. There are hundreds of wonderful ways to fill buckets. The language of bucket filling has become synonymous with being kind and thoughtful. Your bucket will be filled when, at the close of each day, you reflect on the ways in which you have filled buckets.
