ATHLETE
FOOTBALL, WRESTLING, TRACK
Tim Murphy, class of 1982, earned 3 varsity letters in wrestling and 2 letters in both football and track.
In track he specialized in the weight events.
In 1982 as a heavyweight wrestler, Tim won the District 24 and the Region 6 championships, and was selected first team All Ocean County and first team All Shore.
However, in football Tim has had his greatest success. As a junior he was named first team All Ocean County and first team All Shore. As a senior Tim repeated these honors, was also selected third team Group IV All State on offense, and played in the North-South All Star game.
He attended the University of North Carolina and Rutgers University before earning his B.A. from Thomas Edison State College and his Master’s Degree from Jersey City State University.
Tim coached football at JMHS before accepting an administrative position at Central Regional High School.
