MICHELLE NIKOLAYEW

ATHLETE
CROSS COUNTRY, TENNIS, BASKETBALL, SOFTBALL
Michelle is of the few JMHS graduates to earn a varsity letter in four sports. After competing in x-country as a freshman, she switched to tennis as a sophomore. Michelle eventually played 1st singles and qualified for the State Tournament.
As a junior, Michelle was on the A-South champion girls basketball team. Her senior year the team won the Jaguar Classic.
It was softball where Michelle excelled, both at first base and at shortstop. She had a .472 batting average in her last three seasons, with 111 total hits, including 13 homeruns.
In her senior year, Michelle was elected to the All-Shore Hall of Fame and was named an All-County Female Scholar Athlete.
Michelle played softball at Rutgers and put herself among the all-time career leaders with 193 hits (third), 46 doubles (second), and 19 triples (second). In 1995 she was the M.O.P. of the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament Team.
