ATHLETE - COACH
A 2001 graduate of JMHS Doug Withstandley was a four-time NJSIAA District 21 Champion, two-time NJSIAA Region 5 champion, three-time NJSIAA State place winner, and the 2001 NJ 140lb NJSIAA State Champion. Doug finished with a career record of 132-14 while earning four varsity letters competing in wrestling.
Doug continued his athletic and academic career at Purdue University. As a Boilermaker Doug had a career record of 88-42 and was a four year varsity letter winner. He was also a two-time NJAA Division I qualified and in 2004 he was a Big Ten Tournament finalist.
As a coach of the JMHS wrestling program, Doug was a three-time NJSIAA District 21 Coach of the Year, and a two-time NJSIAA Region Six Wrestling Coach of the Year. He compiled a four year coaching record 88-14-0 while coaching 21 NJSIAA District Champions, seven NJSIAA Region Champion, six NJSIAA State Medal Winners, and three NJSIAA State Champions. His teams won three NJSIAA District 21 titles, and four Class “A” South titles.
