RICHARD MORRIS

ATHLETE
CROSS COUNTRY, INDOOR TRACK, OUTDOOR TRACK
While earning 12 varsity letters Rich won many county and Shore Conference titles. It was, however, on the State and National level he earned elite status.
As a freshman he set a frosh record in finishing 2nd in the state Meet of Champions, 1600-meter indoor final.
In his sophomore year he again finished 2nd, and also claimed 2nd place in the State Meet of Champions 1600m outdoor race.
In his junior year Rich:
- won the 5th Avenue Mile
- placed 3rd in the Millrose Games
- was the State 1600 Indoor champ
- 2nd in the State 1600 Outdoor Championships
- 3rd in the State X-Country finals
- won the 1500m at the Penn Relays
- won the USA Track and Field Nationals 1500m in Baton Rouge.
Rich’s senior year included 1st in the 5th Avenue Mile, 2nd in the State X-Country finals. He was named Track Athlete of the Year in New Jersey.
Upon graduation Rich received a track scholarship to Villanova University.
