May 2022

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are nearing the end of the school year and I would like to extend my thanks for another successful year at Carl W. Goetz Middle School. As the Principal, I have the privilege of leading this wonderful school. The school has amazing kids, supportive parents, and a staff that places children's needs first. All of you should be proud of your children. As we have gone back to the traditions and protocols of the past, they have navigated this very difficult year.

We are competing outside now that the nice weather has arrived with our Spring Sports teams.  May culminates with a "Night Under the Stars" Dance for 8th graders on May 20th and a celebration of our Armed Forces on May 27th with our annual "Write to Remember" Ceremony.  Incoming Sixth Grade classes will visit this month, and their parents are invited to see the building on May 18th at 6:00 PM.  With the National Junior Honors Society Induction, the Band & Chorus Concerts, and the first Goetz Tech Night on May 24th, there are a lot of reasons to celebrate this month.

There are many 8th grade opportunities in June, including the Academic Awards Ceremony on June 8th, the Class Trip on June 2nd, the Carnival on June 14th, and the Breakfast/Yearbook signing on June 15th. The Promotional Ceremony will take place at Jackson Memorial High School on June 16th at 3:00 pm.

We encourage you to check our school calendar for upcoming athletic and school events, as there will be many opportunities to celebrate our fine students' accomplishments in May and June.

Go Cougars!

Mr. Carl Perino
